This makes it so practical and universally applicable - whether as packaging, in the automotive industry, as textiles or as a household item. So who can change the material properties, also decides what can be made of recycled plastic. And thus not only increases the potential for use, but also promotes the circular economy.

In Haan stands the competence center of PDS. It brings together the company's research and development activities for recycled plastics for the first time.

This is where the efficient use of our raw materials is researched. This is where the formulations are created that give the granulates the properties that the customers - the plastics processing industry - need. Whether impact resistance or flexibility, designed for specific temperatures or high tensile forces. From the laboratory, all the requirements of our customers can be used to manufacture modern recycled plastics. This allows for greater flexibility and independence in product manufacturing, significantly shortening development times for customers. In particular, new applications for plastic waste from collections of production waste from companies are emerging in Haan. Through years of research and development, PDS has created a trend-setting upcycling process: Recycled Resource. This is followed by recompounding for the comprehensive high-tech sorting of plastic waste: through extrusion, restabilization, rebuilding of the molecular structure and chemical modification with the addition of additives, it is possible to achieve exactly the plastic properties desired by the customer. In the end, high-quality, customized plastic granules are produced. In addition to the unique combination of material properties, the recycled plastic is also superior in terms of raw material, energy and climate balance to any new material: for example, the use of Procyclen alone reduces the emission of greenhouse gases by 30 to 50 percent
